My favourite 8 High School movies

8. Sixteen Candles
The first of 4 movies in this list directed by John Hughes, le genius. I won't go into detail, but it's funny and charming, just not as edgy as his other films.

7. Mean Girls
When it first came out I thought EURGH ANOTHER CLICHED TEEN MOVIE but after I saw it, it was much more wittier than the others that came out around that time (e.g. A Cinderella Story). The best thing about it is that everyone who has been to high school can relate to it in some way or the other. Although, it's not the first of it's kind and not nearly as edgy and dark as Heathers, which is the original Mean Girls in my opinion.

6. Juno
gawhh, Juno is just so good. Witty, cute - but not too cute, and has an awesome soundtrack. Also, and this is my media studies A-level talking, I like the colour palette.

5. Heathers
For people who have seen Mean Girls and haven't seen this film, Heather is basically like Mean Girls but darker, wittier (I know I'm using 'wit' a lot, what can I say, I like wit!) and more psychotic. Watch it.

4. Clueless
Clueless is a brilliant 90's film. The best thing about it are the characters and the humour. It looks super girly and icky but it's not, tis a fave.

3. Pretty in Pink
John Hughes. Molly Ringwald. The 80's. My favourite thing about this film, apart from Duckie, is the style. This is the main film that makes me want to be a teenager in the 80's.

2. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
AWESOME. Ferris Bueller's Day Off will make you feel happy from start to finish. Smart, witty and a Beatles number. Swoon.

1. The Breakfast Club
Ok, so the majority of you have seen The Breakfast Club, right? Then you know how good it is so I don't need to explain it. It's absolutely perfect and I think I told Bels in English Class once - If every child at High School watched The Breakfast Club, there would be far less bullying.
